Position Description

Join our team as a volunteer math and science Instructor! We are seeking a passionate and dedicated individual to lead weekly STEM classes on Thursday’s at 10:00am for our clients with disabilities. As a STEM Instructor, you will have the opportunity to share your expertise in math and science experiments to inspire participants and help them learn.

Calgary Progressive Lifestyles Foundation (CPLF) is a charitable organization supporting people with disabilities at work, at home, and in the community. Since our establishment in 1989, we’ve been committed to creating an inclusive community where individuals with disabilities achieve independence, fulfillment, and autonomy.

Duties and Responsibilities

This role involves demonstrating patience and understanding in the following duties:

  • Planning and facilitating interactive STEM lessons tailored to the diverse needs of individuals with disabilities.
  • Adapting teaching methods and materials to accommodate different learning styles and abilities.
  • Collaborating with CPLF staff to integrate STEM education into broader programs and events while maintaining a safe and inclusive learning environment.

Job Requirements

  • Background in math and/or science
  • Fluent in English
  • Ability to commute to CPLF office location in NE Calgary
