CPLF is on the lookout for a mindfulness coach to lead our weekly Mindful Tuesday sessions. If you're all about making a positive impact in the community while gaining valuable experience, we want to hear from you!

Position Description

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated individual to facilitate our weekly mindfulness sessions Tuesday’s at 1:00pm for our clients with disabilities. As a coach, you will have the opportunity to share your expertise in psychology, therapy, mediation, breath work, or other mindfulness activities that you are trained in to promote health and wellness in a supportive environment.

Calgary Progressive Lifestyles Foundation (CPLF) is a charitable organization supporting people with disabilities at work, at home, and in the community. Since our establishment in 1989, we’ve been committed to creating an inclusive community where individuals with disabilities achieve independence, fulfillment, and autonomy.

Duties and Responsibilities

This role involves demonstrating patience and understanding in the following duties:

  • Teach various mindfulness techniques, such as meditation, deep breathing exercises, and mindfulness-based stress reduction.
  • Guide participants in developing mindfulness practices that promote self-awareness, stress reduction, and emotional regulation.
  • Provide personalized coaching and support to help individuals integrate mindfulness into their daily lives.
  • Create and implement mindfulness programs tailored to the needs of specific populations, such as workplaces, schools, or community organizations.
  • Monitor progress and provide feedback to clients to support their mindfulness journey.
  • Stay updated on current research and best practices in mindfulness and related fields.
  • Collaborate with other wellness professionals, such as therapists or counselors, to offer comprehensive support to clients.
  • Maintain client confidentiality and adhere to ethical guidelines in coaching practices.

Job Requirements

  • Experience or certification in: Mindfulness Coaching, Psychology or Counselling, or other related certifications
  • Fluent in English
  • Ability to commute to CPLF office in NE Calgary, AB
