Accessible Things to Do This November in Calgary (2026)

As the colder months arrive in Calgary, it brings a season full of cozy days, crisp air, and so many fun things to do. Whether you love being outside, exploring something new, or staying in with the people you care about, there’s something for everyone. We’ve put together a few of our favourite accessible fall activities in Calgary for people with disabilities, their families, and support workers. Let’s get into it!

Visit the Martin Family Legacy Garden, Calgary's New Dementia-Inclusive Park

Calgary just welcomed something really special. The Martin Family Legacy Garden opened on September 21, 2026, World Alzheimer Day, and it’s the first park of its kind in Canada. While it was designed with people living with dementia in mind, it’s a welcoming space for everyone. Smooth, accessible pathways and continuous handrails offer added comfort and support for people using wheelchairs, walkers, strollers, or other mobility aids. You’ll also find colour-coded walking loops, a gazebo, bronze animal sculptures, and lots of benches to rest along the way. The park is located in Southview Park in Dover, SE Calgary, with nearby transit along 26 Avenue, parking, and washroom access. It’s a lovely spot for a peaceful fall walk!

Pay Your Respects at the Field of Crosses Memorial

Remembrance Day is an important time to honour those who served. The Field of Crosses Memorial is on display from November 1 to 11, and it’s open to the public 24/7. The crosses are lit up at night, making it a beautiful and moving place to visit any time of day. Daily sunrise and sunset ceremonies are held from November 1 to 10, and everyone is welcome. Just plan to arrive about 15 minutes early.

See a New Art Exhibit at the Esker Foundation

If you’re looking for a calm indoor activity, the Esker Foundation in Inglewood is a great choice. Calgary artist Natalie Gerber’s new exhibit, load, runs from November 9, 2026 to February 21, 2027. The installation combines ceramic and textile pieces to explore weight, gravity, and time, including a flowing silk piece that slowly changes over the length of the show. Best of all, admission and programs are free! The gallery is open Wednesday to Friday from 11am to 6pm, and Saturday and Sunday from 12pm to 5pm.

Start Your Holiday Shopping Early at Spruce Meadows' International Christmas Market

Get into the holiday spirit at the Spruce Meadows International Christmas Market! This year, the market runs over four weekends: November 13 to 15, November 20 to 22, November 27 to 29, and a new weekend on December 4 to 6. You’ll find over 325 businesses and vendors selling handmade gifts, tasty treats, and festive goodies. Most vendors are set up inside cozy buildings, warmed tents, or tiny shops, so you can shop comfortably even on chilly days. Spruce Meadows also has an accessibility page on their website to help you plan your visit.

Host a Themed Night In with Friends or Family

Sometimes the best fall plans happen right at home! When November gets cold, invite friends or family over for a themed night in. You could plan a cozy movie marathon with snacks and blankets, a games night with your favourite board games, a fall baking night, or even a dress-up theme where everyone joins in the fun. It’s an easy, low-cost way to spend quality time together, and you can make it as relaxed or as festive as you like.

The end of October and into November is the perfect season to try something new and make memories with the people you care about. Before you go, we always recommend checking each location’s website for current hours, prices, and accessibility details so you can plan ahead with confidence.
