The social distancing and isolation brought on by the COVID-19 Pandemic hasn’t been ideal for anyone. We all miss being able to go out to visit friends or do our favourite activities without a second thought. Luckily for Eric, one of our clients, has been able to make the best of an unfortunate situation.
Following concerns from his guardians, Eric hasn’t been able to participate in his usual schedule. Philipp, Eric’s support worker, has stepped right up to the plate. In co-ordination with his guardians and help from a handy laptop, they’ve put together several personalized activities over Zoom. They do puzzles, activity books, bake, make cards, and even do painting. Philipp puts a lot of effort in to make sure there’s plenty of variety. Perhaps Eric’s favourite activity so far? Baking oatmeal cookies.
We’d like to extend some huge appreciation to Philipp for all the extra effort he’s put in to making the most of his time with Eric, even though they couldn’t get together in person. We’d also like to thank Eric’s guardians for sharing this wonderful story (and photos!) with us. The pandemic has been really difficult, but things like this keep us inspired.
